So, hey. Kidnapped huh. [Kidnapped again, more like it. He leans back and strokes his lack of beard, allowing the rest of his face to be seen. There's a Sentret flopped over his shoulder like a pancake.]

This is a lot better than most kidnappings I've been to. I even get a free--uh, I'm not sure what this is. [He checks out that Sentret. It's a little familiar to him but not quite enough. Like a squished fire ferret.] Yeah, I don't know. But he is adorable! Don't tell Pabu I said that.

[The Sentret makes some little squeaky noises from his shoulder.]

Ahh, guys! It's assaulting me with cuteness! Do you think I should name him?

I don't think fire ferrets are pokemon, they're just animals.

Though I really don't see what makes him a pokemon. [Here he gives his Sentret a little scritch under its jaw with his finger.]

All the animals here are pokémon. Some of 'em just look it more than others.

Huh. Then I guess he must be stuck back home. I hope Mako's taking good care of him.

Yeah, it's okay. Mako'll figure it out, it's just that Pabu and I have never really been separated, you know?

... Mako and I haven't either, really, but he knows how to find his own food.

He should be able to find food for both of 'em, then.

Yeah. [He's the one that finds food for Bolin technically, too.]

That other guy said there wasn't anywhere to buy food here.

I guess that depends on where you're at.

New Bark Town I think? I just woke up here, and it's kind of overwhelming.

Yeah, you're not gonna find much there, aside from whatever "Mom" [ you can practically hear the air quotes ] put in your pack. Once you get to a larger town, there's stuff to buy.

Oh man. I mean, I can go without eating for a while but I gotta feed this guy. [The sentret, of course.]

The pokémon'll eat berries and stuff that you find along the routes. He should be fine.

Okay, cool. I wouldn't be much of a partner if I let him starve, right?

Just--- don't eat 'em yourself. Humans don't... uh, react well.

It's okay, I can go days without eating. And I'm pretty fast if I don't get lost.

Just keep your little pal happy- he's supposed to be your defense against the wild pokémon.

Wait, are these things dangerous? [He looks down on his sentret. This guy verses dangerous animals?]

Some of 'em, I guess. The wild ones aren't exactly scared of bothering people.

Oooookaaaaaay. And me without my bending.

My earthbending. I'm a pro athlete back home but my bending's disappeared. [He scrubs the back of his neck with a hand.] I know it happens to people, but it's still a shock, y'know?

... I still don't know what that means, but yeah. This place likes to take things from people sometimes.

Earthbending is when you bend ... the earth. You know, you make it move. You shouldn't be able to lose it unless a jerk like Amon comes along, really.

... you have no idea what I'm talking about, huh?

Nope. That's the funny thing about this place- you get people from different worlds all mashed together.

That part would be cool if it weren't for losing my bending. It's kind of freaking me out a bit, to be honest.
