So, hey. Kidnapped huh. [Kidnapped again, more like it. He leans back and strokes his lack of beard, allowing the rest of his face to be seen. There's a Sentret flopped over his shoulder like a pancake.]

This is a lot better than most kidnappings I've been to. I even get a free--uh, I'm not sure what this is. [He checks out that Sentret. It's a little familiar to him but not quite enough. Like a squished fire ferret.] Yeah, I don't know. But he is adorable! Don't tell Pabu I said that.

[The Sentret makes some little squeaky noises from his shoulder.]

Ahh, guys! It's assaulting me with cuteness! Do you think I should name him?

People like to watch! We even made it all the way to the finals!

Ok. I guess I'll have to keep him from getting his little furry head in too deep.

The finals of...bending.

[She sounds so utterly confused about this.]

Yeah, just take it carefully. Most of the ones around town there seem to be weaker than the starters.

You know, the end of the tournament. We should've won--they cheated. [Hmphff! Cheaters.]

Okay. Maybe I can build him up a bit after we get to the first town.

They cheated at bending? What?

[This all sounds ridiculous.]

That's what I did.

They cheated and paid off the referee. We should've won!

Not like it mattered in the end, though.

...How do you 'lose' at bending?

[There, that was a safe question.]

[rocking_it]

Well, by losing territory. Most of the time you get knocked right off the platform. It's a heck of a fall, believe me!

[punchandkiss]

....Okay, I have no idea how any of this would work.

It's not too complicated. You have three players to a team, each a different kind of bender, and you use your bending to push the other team back until you've gained control of the field.

[punchandkiss]

So you can be a specialized...bender.

[rocking_it]

Everyone's a specialized bender except for Korra 'cause she's the avatar. I'm an earthbender, and my brother's a firebender. Korra does our waterbending, and that makes up our team.

[punchandkiss]

[Okay, at least this sounds less weird than like, doing jumping jacks or special stretches or something.]

What does an earthbender do?

[rocking_it]

Bends earth.

[Hah, needs a better answer, right?]

Well, here, watch. If I do this-- [and here Bolin performs a basic form for her] --normally the earth disk will pop out of the ground, and I can send it flying across the ring. [And here he does another motion as though he's pushing something that isn't there. It's all very practiced, as though this is second nature to him.]

[punchandkiss]

[Astrid watches curiously, because this sounded much more interesting than some kind of gymnastics she was thinking of...and then looks puzzled.]

Nothing happened.

[Bolin deflates.]

I know! My bending hasn't worked since I woke up here! I might as well be a pony!
